Welcome to Day One Actor’s Network. We are an independent South Yorkshire-based group, established to support aspiring Northern actors and crew. Day One Actors Network have joined forces with the South Yorkshire Filmmakers Network for their monthly Shooters In The Pub events.
Shooters in the Pub is a monthly networking night for film creatives, which was formerly hosted country-wide by Shooting People. Your first event is free and open to anyone interested or working in film. For actors this is the perfect opportunity to be seen in front of a range of filmmakers and scriptwriters who are potentially looking to cast their next production.
Day One founders Jade and Kate will be at the event from 7pm and on hand to answer any queries about the network, showreel days, or upcoming workshops.

Our script reading sessions give actors the chance to be seen in front of a writer that's developing a script for production. They also give scriptwriters the chance to hear their work out loud - sometimes for the first time.
Whether you are a writer, or actor, we'll ensure you get the most out of these sessions.

Day One Actor’s Network was founded on a voluntary basis by Jade Strain & Kate Spivey. We started out as a theatre company in 2017 and performed three sell-out productions between 2017-2018. In 2022 it naturally progressed into a networking and support group for aspiring actors and has members from within South Yorkshire as well as across England. Starting out in the film and TV industry can be difficult and we want to use our experience to help people progress. We are not-for-profit and always will be.
